With a double flange suitable for use in standard in-line cavity wall details, these cavity closers can also be used in sill details by easily cutting a length to fit the width of the window and positioned in the cavity at the sill. In horizontal applications, a damp-proof course (DPC) is still recommended.

These lightweight closers are suited to fit a 125mm cavity width. With a straightforward installation process without the need for special tools, the lengths can be simply cut with a saw without impacting the thermal efficiency and for some specific products, PVC flanges offer a secure method of fixing.

These cavity closers from Manthorpe are ideal for use around timber windows and doors. When tested as a whole detail including plasterboard and timber door/window frames, they can be used as a part of a detail to comply with the requirements of a cavity barrier as defined in Part B of the building regulations.

The closers are available in individual lengths, or some might be fixed directly onto door and window frames or preformed into frames. G245 and G246 Plastic Fixing Clips allow the closers to be mortared securely to the brickwork and enable shorter lengths to be joined together to minimise wastage.
